A bore snake is a tool used to clean the bore of a firearm, such as a rifle, shotgun, or handgun. It consists of a long, flexible cord with bristles or a brush embedded in it, usually made of cotton or another fabric, along with a weighted or textured tip to help guide it through the barrel. Bore snakes are convenient and portable, often used for quick cleaning in the field or at the range.
